When the Islamic New Year bears a message of self-assessment for Muslims, it bears a message for non-Muslims and Hindus also. It invites them to evaluate themselves.
The primary means of spreading Islam was the method of dialogue and discussion in a friendly and peaceful manner as was instructed in the Glorious Qur’an.
History of Hindu philosophy is totally void of the concept of Da`wah and Hindu religious sources do not include any notion or idea on Da`wah.
Fasting promotes the spirit of human equality before Allah. All able Muslims, male and female, rich and poor, from all ethnic and national backgrounds go through the same experience of fasting.
Fasting is to abstain from eating, drinking and intercourse from dawn until sunset with the intention of worship.
The esteemed Prophet said: ‘feeding a poor and needy and meeting everyone affectionately, whether you know him or not.
Fasting cherishes piety, righteousness and consciousness of Allah. It teaches patience, and with patience one can rise to the high position of piousness.
He said when we remain hungry for long hours, nutritions in our body begin ceasing. When we remain hungry, our bodies begin eating the decayed and rotten parts in the body.
The fasting person gains true sympathy for those who go hungry regularly, and achieves growth in his spiritual life, learning discipline, self-restraint, patience and flexibility.
