Prayer is the core of worship as it is the most obvious form of thanks and gratitude, and it is the most personal declaration of one’s servitude to Allah. Islam scolds those who do not offer their prayer and classified them as unbelievers.
In this short talk, Sheikh Nouman Khan explains how Satan tricks and makes us delay our prayer. It is a matter of fact that when you are late to work, and your boss is angry at you, and lots of people work at your office, in such case you will avoid eye contact and avoid facing him. In the same manner, if you do something shameless or immoral, you will disappoint the Almighty Allah.
Satan always takes advantage of this and comes to the person who is going to pray whispering, you are going to pray now, hypocrite? Now, you are going to pray while you make shameless acts? So Satan distances you from Allah.
So, what should be done in such case? All you have to do is to remember Allah and seek his forgiveness form your sins. The Almighty Allah says:
And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins – and who can forgive sins except Allah ? – and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know. (Aal `Imran 3:135)
