In this video, a Hindu convert shares his spiritual and religious journey in a conference. He relates his story of his first contact with the Glorious Qur’an. According to his statement, he began studying the Glorious Qur’an intending to find mistakes and faults in the Book of Allah the Almighty but what happened was totally different and unexpected; he became a sincere and true Muslim; he found the light of guidance instead of mistakes.
From Sanskrit to Arabic
The brother narrates that whenever any Muslim friend used to say that the blessed name of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has been mentioned in some ancient Sanskrit scriptures, he thought “One who takes bath only once in week teaches how to take bath the one who takes bath every day.” How can an imperfect person teach the perfect? He was proud of his own religion and culture. “The Muslim friend is trying to teach me the religion; I will study the Qur’an and show him the mistakes.” This was the first motive for the study of Qur’an.
He completed his reading the Glorious Qur’an with one of the translations in Hindi language. His heart was enlightened and blessed with divine guidance.
After he studied the translation and became satisfied with the fact that Islam is the only way to Allah the Almighty, he decided to declare his conversion to Islam in public.
There was no pressure, no allurement in any form, material, physical or moral or any kind of force.
Is compulsion in religion acceptable?
Compulsion in religion is not acceptable in Islam. And this is not the sayings of scholars and jurists of Islam; rather, it is the ruling of Qur’an itself. Allah the Almighty says in clear words:
There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. (Al-Baqarah 2:256)
The brother explains the right path and wrong path saying that wrong path is to worship the one came from the womb of a mother instead of worshiping the One Who has designed, shaped, and created us in a unique style in the womb of mother.
Worshiping the sun that appears and disappears, rises and sets and does not have an independent will is surely a wrong way.
The message of Qur’an is to worship the Creator who has created the sky, sun, moon and everything instead of worshiping the sun, moon and sky.
Furthermore, the brother refers to the blessed verse of the Glorious Qur’an that says:
And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate yourselves neither to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate yourselves to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him. (Fussilat 41:37)
Islam teaches to believe in One God, worshiping the True Creator, and leading the life according to its guidance.
Prayer at Bed Time and at Waking up
He says in clear words that after his conversion he became true human-being. In Islam, if you lead your life according to Islam, your sleep also becomes a sort of worship and devotion. A Muslim when he gets up from his sleep and recites the prayer:
Alhamdulillaahilladhi ahyaanaa ba`da maa amaata-naa wa ilaihinnushuur. (All praise to Allah, Who revived us to life after giving us death & to Him we shall return.)
Furthermore, Islam teaches how to enter the bathroom and how to come out from it, rather, there is supplication for every action of life.
